Proverbs Chapter Two

In Proverbs Chapter Two, Solomon continues his Proverbs of Wisdom to his son, “my son.” While it is true that King Solomon was instructing his own son in practical truths using pithy (or concise) sentences; “my son” can be applied to all of God’s Regenerated People. In this view, Solomon stands as our God, our Heavenly Father, calling us His son, teaching us Truth and Wisdom – Truth, or Christ, Who is the Wisdom of God manifested in the flesh, Who has been made unto us Wisdom.

Learning to Walk in The Spirit

If you and I are going to “Walk in The Spirit” and “Be Led of The Spirit,” there are four things we must learn.

Our Service of God

Are you serving God? The word “service” has many meanings, but in these posts, our focus is “the occupation of a servant”; where, when, and how to serve God.

The Struggle

“The Struggle” lies in the choices man makes. Either man trusts in the flesh; or his trust is in the Lord. It is the prayer of the author that these devotions will help the saved man understand that he may yet sin and why.

Believer's Baptism

What is the significance of Believer’s Baptism? This devotion series looks at Romans 6:3-4, in an attempt to understand the significance of this Church ordinance in the life of the believer. The Apostle Paul presents the Believer’s Baptism to be a public profession of Faith in our Union with Christ. This Union has been stated in a twofold manner: (1) Our Representative Union with Christ; and (2) Our Realized Union with Christ.

Psalms 008

Read “The Headship of the Creator” and “The Excellency of the Creator.” This two-part series looks in detail at this wonderful verse.

The Miracle of Conversion

This series centers around Acts 8; the story of Philip and the Ethiopian. The posts begin and end with the truth that “Salvation is of the LORD” (Jonah 2:9); not by any work on man’s part, but wholly by the Sovereign Work of the Holy Spirit of God.

Faithful in the Back Seat

Being in the back seat; or being Number Two; or not being in control of the situation is a hard spot for the flesh of any man. But the reason it is hard is because the position is viewed through the eyes of flesh (walking by sight) and not by faith. In these devotions, you will see that Pride being replaced with Humility is a Sovereign Work of the Spirit of God in the believer.

What Does the World See in God's People?

This series is written about Genesis 26, the story of Isaac and Abimelech. The story of “What did Abimelech see in Isaac?” which could also be called “What does the World See in God’s People?” and “What do Men See in You?” These devotions focus on the witness of The Children of God in the sight of the world.
